The high point of many people's holiday here is the wonderful swimming pool complex with its sun terraces, outdoor pool, choice of water-slides, heated indoor pool and even a jacuzzi. And yet, the magnificent beach at Merlin Plage is just a short stroll away, with the beaches of St Jeande- Monts just a little further. Even so, superb swimming facilities and wonderful beaches are only a small part of the reason for coming to this super park. There is an excellent children's play area here, and activities are first class too, with lively regular entertainment in the bar throughout the season, sometimes going on quite late in high summer. There are also several restaurants open nearby in the height of the season. Some of our pitches are across a road from the main park facilities.

Situated in the delightful little town of La Tranche, Bel is a quiet family run park. While small and relatively quiet, it offers you a lovely swimming pool with a small water slide as well as a super Scandinavian style play area, all of which makes it especially suited to families with young children. It is also just 500m from the longest south-facing beach in the Vendee, where you can swim and sunbathe, before trying a spot of windsurfing on the 'marine lake'. The lovely town of La Tranche is right on the doorstep too, with its floral gardens, and wide choice of cafes and restaurants. A water park, which is payable, with indoor and outdoor pools is just 300m from the park.

Not far from the town of La Tranche-sur-Mer, Camping Bel is a small site and has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The beach is nearby and is typical of the great beaches in the area and is perfect for swimming, windsurfing or just simply relaxing. The site has a number of shaded pitches and the facilities are very well maintained. There is a nice pool with a sun terrace. For those that are more energetic, the sports facilities include half tennis courts and an outdoor fitness course.

The park owners are very proud of their park and are keen for park regulations to be respected. Just a little way from the coast road, La Yole also offers you a beautiful beach nearby and two super resorts just down the road. Out and about, you'll find chic St. Jean de Monts just up the coast which offers a nice change of pace. There's a lovely air of relaxation about this part of the Vendee too, with its myriad of cosy cafes and seaside stalls selling local wine and produce. There is much to see here the Ile de Penotte, a picturesque old quarter in the town centre with pedestrian alleys and facades decorated with shells by a local artist, not to mention the La Chaume quarter, where the city originated, the fishermen's district, with the Place Sainte Anne and its magnificent trompe l'il fresco. And don't miss the delicious food market or fishing port where you can find fish at its freshest. The historical theme park, Le Grand Parc du Puy du Fou is also just 92km away. Located in the Vendee, a region famous for its long sandy beaches, close to Les Sables d'Olonne, Residence L'Estran is a hotel and residence located between the Puits d'Enfer, a deep cleft in the cliff into which the sea comes crashing at high tide, and the town centre. The swimming pool faces the sea and the sandy beaches are just 2km away. There are many activities available locally too such as golf and water sports. There is something for everyone.

Le Pin Parasol is situated in?gorgeous woodland on the banks of Lake Jaunay, where fishing, canoeing and pedaloing are popular with the parc guests. The site itself is immaculate and boasts a great swimming pool with giant waterslides, a tennis court and large play areas. There's plenty to do for both children and adults with a lively animation programme. Top-class facilities include a popular bar, as well as the on-site take-away and bakery, and off parc, attractions such as Puy de Fou and Les Sables d'Olonne are very easy to get to.

For those who prefer the salty version the beach is a short walk and is great for jumping waves, body boarding or relaxing in the sun. There is an extensive programme of activities supplied by the Al Fresco children's club as well as the on site facilities including children's playground; tennis; table tennis and football/volleyball pitch. Off site there are plenty of things to keep you occupied with bike hire around the corner; Atlantic Toboggan water park a short drive away to the picturesque town of St Giles Croix De Vie; the wonderful promenade at St Jean de Monts with a fantastic long beach, cafes, bars and shops all within a short drive. A little further away you will find the zoo at Sables which is worth a visit.
